About the Kennel
Spotmaniac (FCI N° 03/02 BG) is the first registered Dalmatian kennel in Bulgaria, founded in 2002 by Elena Neycheva in Sofia. With over two decades of dedicated breeding, Spotmaniac produces Dalmatians that excel both in the show ring and as exceptional family companions.
The kennel is a member of the Bulgarian Dalmatian Club and WAFDAL (World Association For Dalmatians) and strictly follows the rules of responsible breeding. Since its founding, Spotmaniac has produced seven litters (A-G), with dogs holding champion titles from Bulgaria and Europe. Among the most notable are Ch Spotmaniac D Incredible Machine (Best of Breed 2024 - Bulgarian Dalmatian Club Show, judge Liliane De Ridder, BE), Ch Spotmaniac Diamond Dragon, Int Ch Just Coffee Amaranth Like a Magic and Int Ch Bad & Mad Serbian Sensation In Raul.
Health is a top priority. All breeding dogs undergo BAER hearing test, hip dysplasia screening (HD-A / FCI A1) and genetic testing (Lemon, disproportionate dwarfism). Puppies leave the kennel at a minimum of 8 weeks of age, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped, with full documentation.
Spotmaniac puppies live in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia and Kazakhstan, both in families and in established kennels.
About the Breeder
Elena Neycheva is the founder and owner of Spotmaniac kennel. Her story with Dalmatians began in 1998, when she received her first Dalmatian as a wedding gift. "The breed chose me", she says. What started as a passion turned into a professional mission spanning more than 25 years.
Elena is the author of an extensive library of specialised articles about Dalmatians, published at spotmaniac.com - the only collection of its kind in Bulgarian, covering genetics, health, breed standard, breeding and training. Some of the articles are her original research, including an analysis of disproportionate dwarfism in Dalmatians tracing pedigrees and common ancestors (2025) and an in-depth study on inbreeding with a focus on the Dalmatian breed. Other materials are her translations from English, Russian and Italian of leading cynological authors.
Her breeding philosophy is clear: "For me, breeding is a process of continuous improvement - in conformation, temperament and health. My goal with each litter is to take a step forward, producing beautiful and worthy dogs with stable temperament and excellent health, that are at the same time uniform in type and easily recognisable."
Elena personally selects breeding pairs, raises puppies in a home environment and maintains contact with all Spotmaniac puppy owners. She works with leading European kennels from Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Serbia and Czech Republic, including the legendary Dalmo's kennels (Norway).
A constant support in this endeavour is Elena's husband - Angel Neychev, who also serves as Breeding Manager of the Bulgarian Dalmatian Club, where he participates in organising specialised shows and coordinating the club's breeding programme.
